A Company of the Earl Rivers Regiment Of Foote, Recreating the English Civil War re-enactment of the Seige Of Donnnington Castle, Newbury, BerkshireWelcome to the website of the Earl Rivers' Regiment.

The Regiment is part of The Sealed Knot Society, (SK), being part of the largest re-enactment society in Europe we travel to destinations across the UK, with thousands of others, to re-enact the English Civil Wars. But not only do we re enact the historic battles with Pike, Musket, Horse, Cannon and Drum, our ever growing Regiment has taken on new civilian roles ranging from a Bodger, Cooks, Spinners, moneyer, battlefield surgeon and our very own Regimental Priest, we can all be seen at our local Regimental events as well as at our larger living history displays with the Sealed Knot.

The modern day regiment, the garrison of Donnington Castle has members that cover, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Gloucestershire, Hampshire, Leicestershire, Oxfordshire, Warwickshire and Wiltshire, with large numbers of members in Newbury, and the Thames Valley area.

The Regiment regularly gets together throughout the year to hold events in Newbury, Berkshire. This can range from re-enacting mini battles, skirmishes to Living History events and school visits. At the beginning of the year around March, we visit Shaw house, Newbury for training, recruiting, meetings and at the end of the year we visit our ancestral home of Donnington Castle.
